...how they felt about the new spiderman movie. All I'm gonna say is, great action, full of plot holes, irritating sense of 'convenient' occurances. Was fun though.
Today started average enough. Woke up late, skipped breakfast, got on the bus, spotted this same eye candy i've seen a few times, jep. Normal. ;) Class was okay, a tad slow, and too long, but it did reinforce the basic econs principles...blabla boring myself already.
Highlights:
- Being told salad was my only option for lunch. (I knew it would come sooner or later. Well there was mushroom pasta in the end. I'm vegetarian. Go ahead. Laugh. I did.)
- Singing the famous Phantom Of The Opera tune with Jie Chao and Jamesy outside some construction site behind PS. CHRISTINE!!!!!! (hehheh. Inside joke. Mel looked at us like we crazy.)
- Spiderman 3
- The study session at Mac. Jessica's nuts I tell ya. Lol.
Main stuff I'm gonna be talking about today is....wait for it.... infatuations. Been one of my buzzwords the past week. I'm sure most people would have experienced it before. I'm not talking about food infatuations btw ;) It can be a rather intoxicating experience, to be infatuated with someone. To think of the person constantly, and yet feel powerless to stop it from continuing. Especially if you know its impossible between the two of you for whatever reasons.
A few days back I chanced about this beautiful video by Damien Rice feat. Lisa Hannigan, called Rootless Tree. It was taken from their Abbey Road appearance. It conveys, uncannily enough, exactly what I'm feeling right now.
That's one of the most purest Fuck Yous I've ever heard. Damien and Lisa together manage to convey the utter love/hate/helplessness in those 2 words. Enjoy and tell me what you think about the song.
In a relating news, Lisa Hannigan won't be performing with Damien Rice any longer. Rumors are he kicked her out of the band. As quite a few people around me know, I'm totally smitten by her. Her voice, her gentle demure person (and of course nose and eyebrows! ;) ) has totally got me daydreaming about finding a girl like that for the past few years. Heh. It's impossible to talk about Damien Rice without fawning over her. While Damien Rice may have written the lyrics and music, Lisa was just as important, giving him a female protagonist to joust with lyrically. Damien Rice was really more like a duo than just Damien himself. And all this while, she has been modest about it all, never attempting to steal Damien's thunder, playing the quiet sidekick. This is definately sad news for me, and I hope they patch things up (professionally of course. I have this theory about the two of them actually being an item. I guess all the Damien Rice fans sorta kinda hoped that they were an item as well. It's too bad she got married recently to some lucky guy. Maybe Rootless Tree was meant for her?)
Well I did a little sleuthing around, Lisa's been nurturing a solo career (ABOUT DAMN TIME!)
Here's a 17min clip of her from Other Voices, an Irish programme. Requires Real player.
Signing out, Dhruv 'The Phantom' Ang. Whahaha.
